What to expect
The work usually begins with an initial conversation over the phone where you are invited to briefly describe what difficulties or questions trouble you. This is free of charge and it is meant to give us both an idea on whether psychoanalysis is the way to go, but also an opportunity to address more practical questions such as fees or duration. Following this initial conversation, we will usually arrange to meet in person and talk at more length. If we decide to work together we will agree to meet consistently and take into account that at times more than one session a week could be useful.
The fee will be based on individual circumstances, but most people pay around £70 per session. Sessions take place at least weekly and last around 45 minutes. The duration of therapy varies: some people stop after weeks or months, while others engage in a more explorative, open-ended process.
You are invited to speak freely about whatever comes into your mind and I will listen without prejudice or judgement in a confidential space.
